Life turns like the endless sea
Death tolls like a vesper bell
Children laugh and lovers dream
On a street called Buy and Sell

- Laura Nyro

A message from Elizabeth Rush Agency:

Laura Nyro, a great singer and songwriter of our time, passed away on April 8, 1997 in her home in Connecticut with the support and love of her son, Gil Bianchini, and her life's partner, Maria Desiderio. She peacefully ended her struggle with the devastating effects of ovarian cancer.

Ms. Nyro was born in Bronx New York on October 18, 1947. Her joyful spirit lives on in the music she created and the artistry she inspired in others. Her unique vision gave life to a fusion of American musical influences unduplicated in contemporary music, and is her true legacy to us all.

A private gathering of friends and family will be held in memory. Those wishing to send flowers are encouraged to offer assistance to the Revici Center, as they assisted Ms. Nyro with their best efforts and good council.
